New Year, New You

Aerie Rei

Welcome to a new day, the first day of 2022. We've all heard about making New Year's Resolutions and here's the bad news. You might be one of the 90% that will fall off just come February.

Why does this happen? Science tells us that we fall prey to a "false hope syndrome" Characterized by unrealistic expectations about the likely speed, amount, ease, and consequences of your resolution.

"I want to worship Miss Jasmine. She's a tall, sexy, trans domme, but I have no money. I will save money, drink less, smoke less, gamble less so that I can see her after a month.

Bad news, you'll never get to see me with that thinking.

What you need is a set of behavioural and mental changes to start you on your journey.

Be SMART

SMART is an acronym I always use. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-based.

Be Specific

"I will lead a healthier life this year". This is a disappointing statement I hear from many of the people I meet; it shows a lack of deeper thought and discipline to plan. Instead, your specific goal should be "I will be able to run a half marathon by November." Or "I will bench my weight by May."

Be Measurable

As it suggests, how do you track and measure the success? Are you running 1km twice a week? Are you smoking only 2 sticks a day? Attach a number to what you're planning - even qualitative measurements are still measurable and a good means of feedback.

Be Attainable

If money is what you're planning to save, calculate the outflow and inflow. Draw up spreadsheets and do the difficult thing of giving yourself a reality check. If it's smoking you want to cut down or some other "vice", don't go all cold turkey. I'm here to tell you WILL fail and feel guilty about failing. There's no shame in taking longer than others; everyone had their own pace in life.

Be Relevant

Don't just be short sighted in your planning, plan for the long term because your small goals will give you the motivation to go further. They should also be aligned to your values - if you want to have authentic interactions, change your search and find a domme who cares about more than just your money.

Be Time-Based

When do you want to see results? We all run the risk of just extending the deadline of our goals by another year. Find the discipline or a domme to be accountable to to keep you in check. Check in with your domme about your progress once a month/fortnightly. Someone who is just as invested in your success will help nudge you back on the path.

So, relook your resolutions and reflect on how SMART you're being. After all, I'm not here just for your sexuality - I'm a domme who cares for you as a person. I wish you a Happy New Year - May your 2022 resolutions be true!
